Ask a friend or a stranger or some one you don't really like to give you five unrelated words, random words. Use those words to write one five-line poem. To this day, I am stumped on a sequence of words that includes "masticate". But I haven't given up. I use this prompt when I am at a loss for words or expression. Inevitably, other poems have emerged from obsessing on how to use the word "masticate".
