louderARTS: the Reading Series
OUTloud focuses on the experience of the LGBT artist, providing safe space for all queer, questioning, and allied poets, and expanding the audience's understanding of and familiarity with the voices of established and emerging queer poets. Often, the format pairs an established poet with an emerging writer from the community, a more academically focused poet with one more strongly identified with the world of performance poetry, or a poet and a queer artist from another genre such as visual art, dance, or music.
UPPERCASE showcases poets from the community who demonstrate dedication to honing their writing and performance through participation in the open mic and workshops. UPPERCASE features each perform 10 minutes of the work they have been developing through participation in the louderARTS community, and are invited to prepare for the show individually or as a group with the louderARTIST of their choosing.
