In Good Hands

THIS MORNING MY EYES SHOT OPEN
MY HEART WAS LYING ON THE OUTSIDE OF MY SHEETS
A JUMPING BLOODY MESS
I SAID --------HANG ON LITTLE BUDDY
IM NOT READY YET
AND SHE  SAID                               SURE YOU ARE
THE DEVIL AND HIS DAUGHTER ARE HAVING A BBQ
AND BEFORE I COULD EVEN GET MY BOOTS ON
THE COALS WERE HOT ---YOU COULD SMELL THE FEAR JUST BURNING IN THE STREETS
MY BOOTS TOOK ME OUT THE DOOR
AND MY HEART LED THE WAY
SHE SAID SHE NEVER GETS LOST ALONG THE WAY
I SAID TO HER              IS IT IN GODS HANDS WE TRUST DADDY?
BECAUSE I DON’T TRUST YOU
SHE SAID ARE YOU TRYING TO SPELL OUT A FULL COLOR WORD IN BLACK AND WHITE AGAIN
