Lucy Anderton
Lucy Anderton was raised up in Europe and Berkeley, CA. She recieved a BA in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music after which she thrashed about in Europe and eventually landed in Chicago, that tremendous jigsaw puzzle of which she is now a proud piece. She had been funded by grants from the NEA and Poets and Writers, and in 2000 she was awarded the Gwendolyn Brooks Open Mic Award and won a place on the 2000 and 2001 Mad Bar/Wicker Park Slam team, representing Chicago at the National Poetry Slam. She has been published in the New York Quarterly, ACM; Another Chicago Magazine, Rhino, After Hours, Hammers, and a couple of Hot Anthologies...She has also paid The Rent by being: a landscaper, a horseback riding instructor, a Parisian runway model, a concert security guard, an actor, a waitress, a house painter, a screenplay write, a hip hop dancer, a construction worker and a Muse.
