Eliane

"It is incredible because she sings, directs and plays guitar simultaneously and at such a high musical level that nothing is compromised. Her composition style is mature, melodically and harmonically sophisticated and deeply personal." • Jennifer Vincent, Bass Player

Eliane , swiss born and new york based singer, guitar player and composer, is an active member of the NYC Jazz, Brazil and Latin scene and plays with the best musicians the city has to offer. Besides her perfomances as a leader or a featured artist in New York clubs, like the famous Blue Note, Joe’s Pub, Cornelia’s Street Cafe, Sushi Samba, Triad, Cleopatras Needle, Satalla and major events like the SwissAmerican Film Festival or the Swiss Peak Festival, she also toured in Switzerland and played in Germany and France.

Before starting her Jazz Education in Switzerland, she studied classical guitar and switched to electric guitar at age 19. Forming her own band (funky Jazz with strings) she soon became a local success. Eliane performed all over her country with various formations, ranging from Duos to Big Band. In 1997 she was one of the chosen few to participate in a German Big Band consisting of the most gifted young talented musicians. In 1998 she was awarded scholarship from the New School University and moved to New York. She studied with Sheila Jordan, Richie Beirach, Reggie Workman, Billy Harper, etc. and graduated in spring 2000.

"Eliane has a wonderful voice; combined with an excellent musicality that makes all her singing, scatting and composing a pure delight to hear." • Richie Beirach

"Eliane is an excellent musician. It has been a pleasure to watch her development." • Randy Brecker
