Cynthia Onetta Toliver hails from Wilmington North Carolina, but grew up in Fallsburg, NY. She lived in San Francisco for twelve years before coming back to NYC in 1996. She currently resides in the Lower East Side and sells real estate in Upstate New York. She is a recent graduate from CUNY at CCNY in English/Creative Writing (Phi Beta Kappa- that's right baby!) and plans to continue with grad school in the not too distant future. She has done production and editing work on MSNBC and on a couple of films, including the award winning Family Name, a documentary about slaves and slave owners by Macky Alston, as well as writing short stories and plays, but poetry keeps calling her name!
