Geoff Trenchard

Geoff Trenchard's poems have the tension and suspense of an Alfred Hitchcock marathon mashed into a three minute, one-man play. The nuance and detail he uses to describe the most banal (and sometimes gritty) aspects of life are so visual, so true, that they have caused poets, media, and audiences to say, "Geoff could scrape gum off of a ghetto sidewalk and turn it into savory poetry." and "... His words draw blood for their raw emotional honesty." Geoff is a Bay Area Slam champion that has consistently placed on Slam Teams since 1999. and is widely respected nationwide for his talent and hard work. He has shared the stage with some of the finest performers in spoken word, hip-hop, and rock: The Dwarves, Mos Def, Saul Williams, Beau Sia, and Talaam Acey are but a few. He has performed on KALX and KZSU, and has recieved considerable attention from Bay Area press. He most recently appeared on season three of HBO's Def Poetry with Stacy Ann Chin, Mos Def, and Beau Sia. He also performs as one-third of the spoken word trio, The Suicide Kings.
